Counted from today on your own device: the days left until the end of December 31, the same span in weeks and working days, and how far through the year you are.
Year progress
81.4% of 2026 has passed. Today is day 297 of 365.
The calculator takes December 31 of the current year and subtracts today’s date. That gives the number of days still to come after today. Weeks are that number divided by 7, and weekdays are counted one by one, skipping Saturdays and Sundays.
Days left = December 31 − today
The year-progress figure divides today’s day number by the length of the year, 365 days, or 366 in a leap year.
Questions people ask
Does the count include today?
The main figure counts the days after today, up to and including December 31. So on December 30 there is 1 day left, and on December 31 the answer is 0: today is the last day. The line “Including today” adds today back.
How many days are in this year?
2026 has 365 days. It is not a leap year. Leap years have 366 days; the next ones are 2028 and 2032.
How many working days are left in the year?
The leaf counts weekdays (Monday to Friday) left after today. It does not remove public holidays. For an exact count with US or UK holidays, use the business days calculator with today and December 31.
What percentage of the year has passed?
Divide today’s day number by the number of days in the year. Day 182 of a 365-day year is 49.9% of the way through; the year is half over at midday on July 2 in a common year.
